All 7th and 8th grade team member’s parent release forms need to be turned in by next week’s meeting (11-19-08). All team registration forms will be compiled and sent in following the next meeting. If your forms are not in you can not be a member of the team.

Fundraising letter has been written and is available from Mr. Green, Ms. Rosen, and/or Ms. Miles.  $105 is needed for the registration cost before Thanksgiving break or the team will not be ablt to register before the dead line.

We reviewed the various items that each team will be responsible for developing/designing.  Please respond to the earlier post with what your top 3 team choices are.

Reviewed briefly how many team are currently registered.  There are currently 201 schools registered out of the maximum 750.

Will probably announce who will be working on which team next week.  If you do not list your top 3 choices, you will be placed where needed.

Keep posting your fundraising ideas.  Still the best is to ask local businesses, community organizations (rotaries, lions club, shriner’s, etc…), church’s, family members, etc…

Remember – the skies the limit!

Congratulations on becoming a part of MCMS’s Rocket Team.  The first priority will to be to determine our core team of 10 students that will be entered in as our representatives for the final competition.  This will be determined by participation over the next few weeks.  Also, this project will cost approximately $600.  All participants will be required to solicate donations totaling $60 from the community (businesses, organizations, individuals, etc….).  All team members must have a signed parent consent & release form signed as well.  All three of these activities must be completed before Thanksgiving break.

Be aware, competitors must be currently enrolled in grades 7 through 12 for this contest so we have a big challenge ahead of us!  If you are a 6th grader, we would like to participate as an observing team member for the experience because the rules do not allow you to be registered as a team member.

There is a very tight schedule of activities that need to be accomplished in order to be successful in this project.  The are listed under the Schedule link.
